Publication

The eight hard gates

A candidate proceeds only if it passes every one. Fail a single gate and it routes to research, consolidation, repair, deferral or rejection — never to publication.

The cluster gates

These decide whether two candidates share one canonical page. They are not publication gates.

MERGE
  • IF sense_match = true
  • task_match = true
  • answer_structure_compatible = true
  • next_action_compatible = true
  • separate_page_value = low
  • THEN assign to same cluster
SPLIT
  • IF sense differs
  • task differs
  • result class differs
  • local/product inventory differs
  • legal context differs
  • combined answer harms usability
  • THEN create separate cluster candidate
TEST
  • IF evidence is ambiguous
  • THEN:
  • keep one provisional cluster
  • observe query/page behavior
  • run a controlled asset-format test
  • BEFORE multiplying pages

Priority order

When several things could be worked on, this is the order.

  1. measurement blocker

  2. technical eligibility blocker

  3. canonical conflict

  4. existing high-value opportunity

  5. information/format gap

  6. authority gap

  7. new asset

  8. paradigm experiment
